HEY, I’M MEGAN.
I grew up just outside of Grand Rapids in the Comstock Park/Sparta area. If you know anything about the area, I’m sure you think of one thing. Apples. And guess what? I’ve lived smack dab in the middle of apple orchards my whole life, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I’ve learned to appreciate farmers and how great and awesome growing your own food in a personal garden is.
The outdoors has always been a happy place for me and I think going back to the old ways of knowing what is in our food and connecting to nature is so so important. Plus reaping the sweetest tasting strawberries and best tasting tomatoes in the world are just a few of the simple pleasures in my life. ❤️
Although I grew up in the country, I adore the city life just as much. I studied at GRCC for 2 years while I was trying to figure out what exactly I wanted to do with my life, I then transferred to GVSU and after changing my major a few times, I very clearly decided I wanted to pursue Marketing. Going to school in Grand Rapids is what made me fall in love with a city that had been so close my whole life.
On a regular day, you can find me hanging out at local coffee shop, walking the streets of GR, or taking pictures for our social media.
In the last couple years, I’ve found myself researching & learning how our consumer habits are quite literally trashing the earth. I’ve learned a lot, and it’s made me want to switch my lifestyle to being more eco-friendly. So if something isn’t a sustainable option, I really don’t want much to do with it. It’s fun to find reusable swaps for old single-use items! My personal goals started with switching to metal straws, bringing my own reusable bags shopping, and bringing my own mug to places. My sustainability goals are much higher now, and I hope to one day plan my wedding with close to zero waste!
