Sweet, sweet summertime. The wait for warmer weather is over and we can officially talk about all things #summer in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Finally! We’re used to everyone saying, things look a little different in the world right now, but that doesn’t mean we can’t dive into summer with a list of activities to check-off. Lucky for us Grandrapidians, businesses are working hard in the community to ensure that our summer in West Michigan is a (safe) one to remember, even if things are a little out of whack. 

Get out a pen and paper, or if you’re not doing that anymore – pull up your calendar and start compiling a list to check off this summer in GR and the surrounding area. We’ve got all the information all in one place, so maybe even just bookmark this page for quick and easy reference.

Taco Tuesday and Ziplining in Cannonsburg

Taco Tuesday AND Ziplining?! Say less. We are totally here for this one. Cannonsburg recently announced their bringing Taco Tuesdays on the Deck back and have a ton of outdoor space for you to gather with friends and family but still keep a respectful distance from others. Hangout for the day and Zipline, then close out the night with some great shredded beef barbacoa tacos! A must try? Their roasted cauliflower.

Make a Splash at Splash Pads and Parks in Grand Rapids

We’ve all been inside for way too long. Your kids are probably ecstatic about getting outside and making a splash this summer. Lucky for GR Parents, there are quite a few splash pads around the community that will be opening up this 2021 summer season. Hot, summer days are ahead! Check a couple of local Grand Rapids splash pads off your summer bucket list with the kids this season. Keep an eye out for pad and park opening dates.

Summers Day Stroll at Millenium Park

Did you know that Millenium Park is known as one of the nation’s largest urban parks? Now you do! There’s your fun fact about Grand Rapids for the week. Whether you and your family are in the mood for a morning kayak on the lake, a mid day bike ride, or an evening boat ride, you guys are sure to find some family fun at Millenium Park. 

Beach it

Have you ever heard anyone complain about going to the beach? Us either! You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life! Beaches were meant to be enjoyed in the summertime and the West Michigan area offers some beautiful beach views to take in. Getting your daily dose of nature has never been more enjoyable, relaxing, or beautiful! When it comes to beach activities at Millenium park, the opportunities are endless.
