One of my first tasks when moving to West Michigan in 2008 was to locate my go-to radio station.
I will never forget driving in my car, scrolling through the dials, and being completely confused that the early morning content was the daily agriculture report.
Where in the world to I just move to?!
Long story short, I was abruptly introduced to West Michigan’s nutrient rich resources and, in a round about way, our feature City for this week; Hudsonville!
I’m excited to spend a few talking about this Grand Rapids suburb. First, it is just darling.
The commercial corridor full of farmhouse chic boutiques and reclaimed home goods, mixed with tractor supply shops that wind along Chicago Drive – once well traveled as a pre-highway connection from Grand Rapids to Chicago.
Hudsonville is also affectionately know as Michigan’s salad bowl for good reason. They have fantastic soil for growing crops, livestock, and newly constructed homes. Seriously. Any visit out there you are sure to run into all three.
And lets just pause here to celebrate Hudsonville Ice Cream. Technically located in Holland, Hudsonville Ice Cream rivals Ben and Jerry’s in my very biased opinion for delicious flavor combinations. My favorite is the Caramel Deer Traxx.
